Microfluidics refers to the science and technology involved in systems that use micropipes to process or manipulate tiny fluids. Because of its features such as miniaturization and integration, microfluidic devices are usually also called microfluidic chips, lab-on-chips and micro-total analysis systems. Microfluidic chips have been widely used in the fields of organic synthesis, microreactors and chemical analysis, clinical diagnostic instruments and in vitro biomimetic models due to their miniaturization and large-scale integration.

 

Process capability

*PDMS device

The machining accuracy depends on the accuracy of the mold. YW MEMS provide high-precision molds such as etching silicon, SU-8, and etching glass.

 

*SU-8 device

The glue thickness range is between 2-400um, the glue thickness to line width ratio is 1:1, and the accuracy error is less than 10%.

 

*Silicon runner device

The minimum line width is in the order of hundred nanometers, the flow channel is high in steepness, the line width accuracy is high, and the controllable accuracy is within 5%, and the maximum aspect ratio of the flow channel can reach 20:1.

 

*Glass runner device

IBE etching is used within 1um depth, the etching accuracy is within 10%, the aspect ratio is 1:1, and the processing efficiency is high.

The depth is 1-20um, and it can be etched by NLD. The etching has high etching rate, high uniformity, high plasma density and low voltage discharge.

Wet corrosion is used for depths above 20um, with high processing efficiency, and the aspect ratio is above 2:1. The line width is more than 200um, the precision is low, and laser drilling can be used.
